Job description

You will help safeguard and optimize DEME's operational networks, specifically related to our vessels. That means designing, securing and troubleshooting the critical systems that make our pioneering projects possible. You'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance and security of our industrial communication and OT infrastructure. As part of a multidisciplinary, hands-on team bridging engineering, IT and operations you help to safeguard critical systems through professional network administration, robust routing & switching, and industrial cyber-security practices.   • Design, deploy and maintain network infrastructure across vessels and industrial operations, including routing , switching , VLANs and firewalls .
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and resolve networking challenges that impact operational systems and critical equipment.
  • Strengthen DEME's industrial cybersecurity by performing risk assessments, implementing hardening techniques, managing secure remote access and monitoring for vulnerabilities.
  • Support and optimize communication between OT/industrial systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA/DA, …).
  • Use scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash…) to streamline network configurations, monitoring and maintenance tasks.
  • Document network and cybersecurity architectures, configurations and updates with accuracy and clarity.
  • Travel occasionally (20%) to vessels and project locations to support onsite infrastructures and see your work and impact come to life., As a Tender Engineer you will play a key role in the preparation and submission of our innovative proposals. You will be part of an international, multidisciplinary team of 6 to 15 members, supported and coached by an experienced Desk or Tender Manager. As a member of the Tender Department, you will be allocated to one or several tender teams and will report for each tender to the Tender Manager. In this position you will collaborate with different parties and you will be the first link to our bright future. At the moment, we are looking for new colleagues for the Cable Installation department. As a Fleet Improvement Engineer within our Fleet Center of Excellence, you will play a pivotal role as an analyst in transforming operational insights from our fleet of vessels into tangible improvements. Your mission is to analyze needs related to data, processes, and organizational workflows, and identify opportunities for optimization and innovation. You will bridge the gap between operational and technical learnings from our fleet organization and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that enhancements are embedded in systems, applications, reports, procedures, and business processes.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, ICT, Industrial Automation, Electronics, Electromechanics or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in networking , cybersecurity , industrial automation or OT systems.
  • Strong knowledge of routing , switching , firewalls , network segmentation and secure connectivity.
  • Familiarity with OT/industrial protocols and systems (PLC/SCADA, Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP…).
  • Understanding of security standards such as IEC 62443 or NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Scripting or automation skills to support network or security tasks.
