Job description
As a Remote Sensing Engineer, you have a key role to play in the societal and climatic issues that affect us, to better manage our resources by monitoring the evolution of forests or measuring the impact of man on our ecosystems. You provide key information to major players such as the European Space Agency and the European Commission.
You will join a department of 3 people. In this team, you will work with two colleagues who are experts in their field: one specialized in artificial intelligence and the other one in remote sensing. This is an opportunity for you to learn a great deal about highly specialized subjects.
In concrete terms, your missions are to :
- Develop and maintain automatic processing chains for extracting information from satellite images and making it available online.
- Automate and/or execute recurring processing operations using appropriate technologies
- Develop and/or optimize algorithms for the exploitation of radar and optical satellite images, especially Copernicus products, as part of a partnership with the EC.
- Provide information on natural resources (forestry, agriculture, risk management (floods, disasters, soil movement, etc.))
- Participate in Walloon and international projects (to provide services tailored to needs)
Requirements
Do you have experience in TypeScript?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree in computer science, geosciences, bioengineering, remote sensing
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar environment
- Mastery of a Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence technique, preferably using geospatial data
- Solid programming expertise (Python, R), preferably in a Linux environment
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Rasdaman, Geonetwork, backend APIs, TypeScript pour applications de SIG web et standard de web mapping
- Comfortable using a Geographic Information System (QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.)
- Excellent command of English and knowledge of French
- Experience with one of the following tools: OpenEO (CDSE) or ENVI
- Already use drone photogrammetry or spatial remote sensing (optical and/or radar), in particular Sentinel 1 and Sentinel 2 data Interest in the space sector and environmental issues
