Job description

  • Day-to-day administration and monitoring of LAMP stack on RedHat
  • Respond to P1 incidents within 30 minutes (24/7 on-call); P2 within 2 hours
  • Apply security patches within 72 hours of release (subject to NCSC change approval)
  • Produce monthly maintenance and status reports for NCSC (D6)
  • Manage backup, recovery, and business continuity procedures for CSISS
  • Maintain SHAPE site access and operate within security protocols
  • Coordinate planned maintenance windows with NCSC (5 WD advance notice)
  • Support Role 1 with infrastructure provisioning for development/test environments

Essential Skills, Experience and Certifications

  • LAMP stack administration: Linux (RedHat preferred), Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP
  • RedHat Enterprise Linux - installation, configuration, hardening, patching
  • System monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, or equivalent)
  • Incident response and escalation management
  • Backup and recovery procedures for production systems
  • Security hardening and CIS Benchmark compliance for Linux servers
  • MySQL/MariaDB database administration - performance tuning, replication
  • Scripting: Bash, Python, or Perl for automation and monitoring
  • Network fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, firewall rules, VPN
  • IT Service Management practices (incident, change, problem management)

Requirements

Do you have experience in VPN?, * RHCSA (RedHat Certified System Administrator) - mandatory or demonstrate equivalent

  • CompTIA Linux+ (acceptable alternative to RHCSA if RHCE pending)
  • ITIL Foundation - service management and incident response framework

Language Proficiency

  • Fluent in English, * Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance

The program Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS) The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is NATO's principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider. It provides, maintains and defends the NATO enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV, and, when required, stand together in the face of attack under Article V. To provide these critical services, in the modern evolving dynamic environment the NCI Agency needs to build and maintain high performance-engaged workforce. The NCI Agency workforce strategically consists of three major categorise's: NATO International Civilians (NIC)'s, Military (Mil), and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC)'s. The IWCs are a critical part of the overall NCI Agency workforce and make up approximately 15 percent of the total workforce.
