Job description

The CVM Systems Specialist for the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) supports the administration, configuration, and operation of CVM application systems, including EMR, PACS, and Slate. This role assists with system configuration, reporting, workflow support, and system troubleshooting to support reliable system performance and effective use across CVM operations. The position operates under CVM IT leadership and in alignment with CVM, Enrollment Management, and Clemson Computing and Information Technology (CCIT) standards and governance. Performs other duties as assigned., 35% - Essential - Application System Administration & Operations: Supports the administration and maintenance of CVM application systems, including EMR, PACS, and related platforms, assisting with proper system configuration and effective functionality. At the direction of the Director of IT, maintains application-level user access, roles, and permissions. Performs routine system configuration and maintenance, and monitors system performance. Identifies, addresses, and escalates issues impacting operations, including data flow and integration issues between systems.

25% - Essential - Slate Development & Workflow Configuration: Supports the development and maintenance of Slate applications, forms, rules, and workflows to meet CVM admissions and operational needs. Assists with process automation, system configuration, and workflow alignment while ensuring data integrity. Participates in testing, validation, and deployment of system enhancements. Coordinates with the Enrollment Management Slate Team to maintain consistency and best practice across University systems.

15% - Essential - Reporting & Data Support: Develops and maintains reports across EMR, Slate, and other CVM systems to support operational and strategic needs identified by the Director of IT and College leadership. Assists in validating data accuracy, identifying inconsistencies, and supporting both recurring and ad hoc reporting requests. Provides data support to inform decision-making and improve system utilization.

15% - Essential - System Implementation & Operational Support Assists with support activities related to system updates, issue resolution, maintenance, and implementation efforts for CVM systems. Participates in system implementations, upgrades, and testing efforts, while tracking, documenting, and following up on system-related requests to support timely resolution.

10% - Essential - Documentation, Governance & Workflow Optimization: Maintains system documentation, including configurations, workflows, and procedures, and supports the standardization and optimization of system usage across CVM. Monitors systems for alignment with CVM and CCIT policies, security standards, and governance processes, and supports compliance efforts, audits, and system reviews while coordinating with CCIT teams as needed., No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget., Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Workflow management (operations management method)?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, Education - High School or Equivalent

Work Experience - 1+ years in computer system development and modification. A bachelor's degree in a related area may be substituted for the required work experience.

Education - Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience - 3+ years in computer system development and modification.
