• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials, delivering high-quality instruction, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, and actively contributing to the academic, professional, and community life of the college.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of MECC while emphasizing instructional excellence through innovative teaching practices, curriculum development, and assessment.
• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization, committing to continuous professional growth aligned with the college's mission and goals..

Essential Functions: As a part of the primary responsibility to provide quality instruction, the College expects each faculty member to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations Special Assignments

• Must demonstrate ability to deliver coursework electronically in online environment and utilizing multiple teaching strategies as well as in-person instruction.
• Has a thorough understanding of the varied backgrounds and experiences of student populations and the ability to create a sense of belonging, support, and engagement that considers and values all students in curriculum development and teaching.
• Proficiency in using computers, relevant software applications, and the institution's learning management system (LMS) is required.

Mountain Empire Community College is a comprehensive two-year college serving residents of Lee, Scott, Wise, and Dickenson counties, and the City of Norton.
