Job description
About the Team The TikTok U.S. Data Security (USDS) team is responsible for the security, integrity, and compliance of TikTok's data within the United States. The Data Platform Team builds a scalable, reliable, cost-efficient infrastructure that ensures data integrity and empowers every business unit to win through self-service tools and scientific insights. We are seeking a Full-Stack Engineer to help drive company-wide efficiency and "self-service empowerment" through AI-driven innovation. Our mission is to transform how the organization interacts with data by building a "technical multiplier"-a suite of internal products that automate manual bottlenecks and accelerate business velocity. Responsibilities - Own the Full Product Experience: Design, build, and ship end-to-end internal web applications - taking features from wireframe to production independently, owning both the frontend UX and the backend logic. - Build User-Facing AI Tools: Develop intuitive interfaces for AI-powered capabilities including conversational data assistants, natural language SQL tools, and intelligent workflow automation - making complex AI accessible to non-technical users. - Drive Self-Service Adoption: Identify where internal teams are blocked by manual processes or engineering dependencies, and replace those bottlenecks with polished, easy-to-use self-service products. - Elevate Internal UX Standards: Establish and champion UI/UX best practices across internal tooling - raising the bar so internal products feel as refined and reliable as consumer-grade applications. - Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with backend platform engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate complex data capabilities into seamless product experiences.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software engineering?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Minimum Qualifications - Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. - Experience: 5+ years of software development experience with a proven track record of shipping full-stack products - frontend to backend - in production environments. - Frontend Proficiency: Strong command of modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or equivalent), with a high bar for UI quality, responsiveness, and usability. - Backend Proficiency: Solid experience building APIs and services in Python, Go, Node.js, or Java; comfortable with databases, caching, and service integration. Preferred Qualifications - AI Product Experience: Experience integrating LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, or agentic workflows into user-facing products - with a focus on making AI feel intuitive and trustworthy to end users. - Internal Tooling Portfolio: A track record of building internal platforms that drove measurable adoption - dashboards, workflow tools, data explorers, or reporting applications used at scale. - Design Sensibility: Ability to produce or closely collaborate on UX/UI design; experience with Figma or similar tools is a plus. - Leadership: Experience as a product-minded tech lead who can drive 0-1 initiatives end-to-end, mentor engineers, and make sound tradeoffs between speed and quality.
