Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team for this UK based on site role. We're looking for someone at the start of their IT career to join our team as an IT Support . You'll be the first point of contact for day-to-day technical issues, helping keep systems running smoothly and supporting users across the business.
Most of your time will be spent on support tasks, but you'll also get the chance to get involved in projects and learn more about areas like cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and development tools as you grow in the role.
What You'll Be Doing
IT Support (Main Focus)
- Act as the first point of contact for IT issues
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network problems
- Maintain laptops, desktops, printers, and other devices
- Handle common printer issues (connectivity, errors, etc.)
- Log and manage support tickets, making sure they're resolved on time
- Escalate more complex problems when needed
User Support
- Help users with access, connectivity, and general IT questions
- Support basic system usage and data access
- Offer simple guidance or training where needed
Systems & Applications (Learning Opportunity)
- Assist with basic issues in systems like SAP Business One
- Help manage user access and permissions
- Support internal and custom-built applications
Projects & Improvements
- Get involved in IT projects (e.g. system upgrades, cloud migrations)
- Help maintain IT documentation and asset records
- Work with internal teams and external suppliers when needed
General IT Admin
- Keep records up to date (assets, users, documentation)
- Support day-to-day IT operations
- Follow internal security and IT policies
- Follow company processes around data security and system validation
- Support compliance with UK GDPR
- Keep documentation up to date for audits
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software troubleshooting?, Degree in IT, Computer Science, or similar (or equivalent experience), Windows and Microsoft 365
- Basic troubleshooting (hardware/software)
- Understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN)
- Experience setting up PCs, laptops, and printers
Nice to Have (but not required):
- Any exposure to SAP or other ERP systems
- Awareness of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
- Basic knowledge of Linux or macOS
- Some understanding of databases (SQL/PostgreSQL)
- Awareness of APIs or programming concepts
- Familiarity with tools like Git, NGINX, or caching technologies
Soft Skills
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Clear communication and a helpful attitude
- Able to manage tasks and prioritise effectively
- Eagerness to learn and develop, * 0-2 years in IT support or a similar role
- Graduates with a strong interest in IT are welcome to apply
- Any experience in regulated environments is a bonus, not essential
