Experience Level: Entry-Level to Mid-LevelJob Summary:We are a growing IT Managed Services Provider (MSP) seeking a motivated, hands-on IT Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who excels at hardware bench work and enjoys going out into the field for on-site client deployments. You will split your time between diagnosing and staging equipment at our South Charleston bench facility and visiting local small business clients to install, troubleshoot, and maintain infrastructure.Note: All necessary diagnostic tools, bench equipment, and a company service vehicle for field dispatches are fully provided by the company.Key Responsibilities:
- Bench Diagnostics & Staging: Perform hardware bench work including diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading PCs, laptops, and servers. Assemble, image, and configure workstations and networking hardware before deployment.
- On-Site Field Support: Travel to local small business client sites using the company vehicle to deploy newly staged equipment, mount hardware, and resolve hands-on technical issues.
- Physical Infrastructure Installation: Run physical network drop tests, terminate cabling, and securely mount network switches, firewalls, and server rack infrastructure.
- Software & Account Setup: Install operating systems, configure Microsoft 365 environments, set up user profiles, and verify software licensing during the staging process.
- Infrastructure Troubleshooting: Diagnose physical and logical issues with local networks, switches, routers, and network printers both on the bench and in the field.
- Documentation & Ticket Management: Track hardware inventory, document system configurations, and log all service details within our ticketing system.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Network installation?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * 3-5 years of experience in IT hardware repair, desktop support, or hands-on field technician roles.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude for computer hardware assembly, component replacement, and cabling.
- Familiarity with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 administration, and core networking concepts (TCP/IP, cabling, switches, routers).
- Comfortable splitting time between a physical service bench and active, hands-on field deployments.
- Excellent face-to-face communication and customer service skills for on-site client interactions.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar hardware/networking certifications are a strong plus.
- Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record to operate the company service vehicle.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. Local candidates only-no relocation support provided.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver heavy IT equipment, including server mounts and UPS backup batteries up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders, work in tight spaces (such as drop ceilings or server closets), and stand or kneel for extended periods during physical network installations.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
