Job description
The Network Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity across Wiwynn's manufacturing and office environments. This role supports day-to-day network operations, troubleshooting, security controls, and documentation while minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with organizational security and factory safety standards., Network Operations & Support
· Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
· Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to minimize downtime.
· Support wired and wireless network infrastructure for production floor and office environments.
· Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of network systems.
Network Security
· Implement and maintain network security measures including VPN configurations and firewall policies.
· Support intrusion detection and network security monitoring tools.
· Ensure network operations comply with organizational security standards and best practices.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
· Diagnose and resolve network issues using tools such as Wireshark, Ping, and Traceroute.
· Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing-related issues.
· Escalate complex issues as needed while providing clear documentation and follow-up.
Documentation & Compliance
· Document network configurations, system changes, and troubleshooting steps.
· Maintain records to support audits, compliance reviews, and change management processes.
· Ensure adherence to factory safety protocols while performing network-related work.
Collaboration & End-User Support
· Collaborate with internal IT teams and external vendors on network projects and infrastructure improvements.
· Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues.
· Support structured cabling and fiber optic installations as needed.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Network support?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, · Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; or equivalent certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA).
· 1-3 years of experience in network support or IT operations preferred.
· Experience supporting manufacturing or factory environments preferred.
Skills
· Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
· Hands-on experience with network devices including Fortinet, Cisco, and Extreme Networks.
· Experience with diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, Ping, and Traceroute.
· Familiarity with network security tools and intrusion detection systems.
· Experience with structured cabling and fiber optics.
· Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
· Manufacturing and office environments.
· Exposure to production floor conditions and network equipment rooms.
· May require working off-hours during maintenance windows or critical incidents.
Physical Demands
· Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout manufacturing and office areas.
· Ability to lift and install network equipment as required.
· Ability to work in equipment rooms, under raised floors, or in confined spaces as needed.
