Job description
- Define and enforce data quality standards
- Monitor data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness
- Identify and resolve data issues (duplicates, missing values, inconsistencies)
- Work with data owners and IT teams to improve data quality processes
- Implement and follow data governance policies
- Ensure data is handled in compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
- Enforce data classification and data handling standards
- Participate in governance councils or committees
- Maintain data definitions, data dictionaries, and glossaries
- Ensure consistency of business terminology across systems
- Document data lineage (where data comes from and how it flows)
- Help users understand meaning and context of data
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams
- Collaborate with data owners to define rules for data usage
- Ensure clear accountability for data assets
- Define who can access what data
- Ensure proper data access controls and permissions
- Support secure data sharing while maintaining privacy
- Work with security teams to prevent unauthorized use
- Manage data from creation to archival or deletion
- Define retention policies
- Ensure obsolete or redundant data is properly disposed of
- Act as the point of contact for data-related issues
- Investigate data discrepancies and coordinate fixes
- Support business users with data-related questions
- Work with : Data engineers and analysts, business stakeholders
- Compliance and legal teams, Communicate data standards and best practices across the organization
- Identify gaps in data processes
- Suggest improvements in governance, tools, or workflows
- Support implementation of data management tools
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, business, or a related field
Experience:
- German Language Proficiency (Mandatory)
- Strong proficiency in SQL language
- 5+ years of experience of functional knowledge in Finance, Commercial, Manufacturing, Logistics
- Expertise in understanding process cycle of managing and tracking data assets
- Ability to ensure data is tagged and organized for easy access and usage
- Aware of data security and compliance tools in managing regulatory requirements
- Support data classification to streamline the process of categorizing data to enable efficient management
- Ability to steer drive Process entities and correlate to Applications, Dataflows, User data usage
- Experience designing cloud solutions
- Experience with data integration and migration, as well as ETL/data integration tools
- Experience with SDLC and continuous delivery tool sets such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or comparable tools
- Ability to establish workflows and clear processes for handling data and enforcing policies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
