Job description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks experience to join a growing engineering team. This role involves designing and developing bespoke equipment and systems, producing detailed manufacturing drawings, and supporting projects from concept through to production and installation.

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, production teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet technical, operational, and commercial requirements., * Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, fabricated structures, and bespoke engineered solutions
  • Produce accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation
  • Liaise with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and efficient to produce
  • Support projects from initial concept through to installation and commissioning
  • Review and improve existing designs to enhance performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Conduct design calculations and technical assessments where required
  • Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to source components and resolve technical queries
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and customer specifications

Requirements

Do you have experience in SolidWorks?, * Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline

  • Proficient in SolidWorks, including parts, assemblies, and drawing creation
  • Experience producing manufacturing and fabrication drawings
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in the water treatment, process, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
  • Knowledge of sheet metal, fabrication, and welded assemblies
  • Familiarity with P&IDs and process equipment layouts
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and design validation
  • Understanding of materials selection and corrosion-resistant design
