Application Developer

Gallagher is looking for an all around Application Developer who is strong with C#/.Net and Database skills. This person needs to be able to work very independantly with little direction., o Primary responsibility is to write / develop code per user stories developed by our Business Analyst (BA) team. o Work with our BA's and other developers on new application development in support of our integrated benefits underwriting and management platform. o Regularly meet with our BA's to review new requirements, progress on existing work and testing in an Agile Development environment o Conduct thorough Data Exploratory Analysis before starting to code in order to determine potential issues with existing data not identified in the specs

• Application Support

o Work on existing applications within our benefits administration platform regarding new enhancements, new capabilities and fixes on an as needed basis.

• Systems Documentation

o Update appropriate systems documentation to reflect changes in the original requirements documents and use cases, when there are changes to the original requirements documentations.

• Database Design / Scripting

o Work on designing and optimizing relational database schemas based on the defined requirements and understanding of the underlying data o Create views and stored procedures necessary for use with new or existing applications and reports o Analyze and refactor existing views or stored procedures as data or requirements change, o C# o Microsoft .Net (.Net Framework and/or .Net Core) o ASP.Net MVC and WebAPI o Client<>Server RESTful communication o Bootstrap/jQuery o Windows Presentation Framework o MS SQL o Git/Bit Bucket

• Skills and experience to provide backup support in the following areas

o Windows Server

• Moderately complex database skills

o Design and implement logical and physical data model o Moderate to complex SQL o Database field encryption o Database tuning and maintenance o Managing of transactional and data warehouse environments o Extraction Translation and Loading processes

• 4+ years systems development

o Requirements definition o Code re-use o Systems integration o Application development and testing o Quality assurance

• Bonus Skills

o SSIS o WCF o Azure Devops o WinForms o Single-Page Application (SPA) Frameworks o Redis

• Other

o Customer-centric, professional approach in working with a variety of people. Sufficient oral and written communication to prepare required reports. Ability to work within a team as well as independently with little supervision.
