Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Windows Server administration?, Can write and speak English in a clear, intelligent, and friendly way - be able to talk to the computer-unsavvy in helpful, simple, no-jargon terms

  • An upbeat attitude & business-casual, professional appearance

  • Ability to work independently and make good decisions - no micromanaging here, but we will provide training and you can escalate tickets to me as needed

  • Empathy - you really understand how frustrating it can be when your computer is screwed up. You can help people see that it's not so complicated when set up well and that they know they can count on you to help make computing (mostly) painless

  • Must own and be legal to drive a reliable car

  • Must live in Minneapolis or nearby suburbs for centrality, NE Mpls preferred

  • Must have at least A+, MCP, or similar or clearly able to demonstrate to me in an interview that you have relevant experience

  • Mainly Windows desktop and server skills required; both Android and iDevice familiarity is good as well

  • Modest network device and printer troubleshooting

  • Usual troubleshooting stuff. Virus removals, Outlook email setup, hardware recommendations, computer setups, etcl

WOULD BE NICE

  • CCNA, MCSE, & SSCP would really get my attention

  • Knowing another OS (OSX, *nix) well is a plus

  • O365 basic admin familiarity would be helpful

  • cPanel, WordPress, nameservers, etc or other website experience is a plus

  • RMM/NOC software & experience is a plus

  • Server and enterprise experience is a plus

  • Any additional software/hardware experience is a plus; old funky software workarounds, UAC, group policy, etc. We work on a bunch of different problems, so you'll get some variety and will learn a bunch

  • Drive-time considered work time, paid at same rate with any mileage and expenses compensated as well

  • 15 days a year PTO & 6 paid holidays annually

HOURS

  • BE AWARE - INDEED DID NOT LET US LIST THE ACTUAL HOURS - THEY ARE: M-F 3 to 4 hours a day (your choice) starting at 7:30am, 8, 8:30, or 9 (your choice)

  • If you have the time and we need help later in the day, you can be offered that work For occasional onsites, we would try to schedule next-day to one-week appointments around your availability. Same-day is nice, but not expected

  • No odd hours or weekends required

  • Preference for residing in NE Minneapolis or nearby suburbs (I'm in Saint Anthony).

  • This would be a good job for someone already with some computer repair clients, or a college student, or someone who otherwise has mornings free
