Job description

This non-exempt, non-benefited, temporary position performs general miscellaneous and unskilled tasks within the Water Resources Department., Works under general supervision of the Water & Distribution Lead Operators and Water & Distribution Supervisor., Some duties may include, but not limited to:

  • Flushing fire hydrants: This critical task ensures optimal performance and maintains the integrity of the system.
  • Painting and maintaining fire hydrants: Ensure hydrants are easily identifiable and in good condition.
  • Supporting the valve exercising program and maintenance: Ensure the efficient and reliable operation of our systems.
  • ArcGIS field logging and corrections: Perform field logging and make necessary corrections using ArcGIS.
  • Cleaning well houses and other buildings: Maintain cleanliness and order in all facilities.
  • Performing routine clean-up and housekeeping: Ensure work areas and equipment are kept in excellent condition.
  • Administrative tasks: Organize and manage documents efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned: Be prepared to undertake additional responsibilities as needed., * Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day workweek. May be subject to overtime on an as-needed basis to work within the department and for other duties as assigned.
  • Work may involve contact with customers and tasks performed in and around roadways, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Work is also performed on construction sites, in office situations, and at a wellhouses and water treatment facilities where noise, irritants, dust, dirt, bacteria, hazardous chemicals/air/materials, and fumes are present.
  • Work may take place outside in all weather conditions. May be exposed to risks typically associated with working around water, chemicals, electricity and other man-made and natural hazards.
  • Full range of body movements including stooping, twisting, kneeling, bending, leaning, reaching, climbing (heights), stretching and working in awkward positions. May stand for extended periods of time.
  • Physical effort required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasional and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to operate vehicles and equipment, read, record and interpret information. Must be able to communicate with other employees and the public.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Company vehicle operation?, * Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid drivers license with a Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to the District's insurance company.
