Job description

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire SMT operation, including production, equipment, process control, quality, staffing, customer collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives. The SMT Operations Manager will serve as both a technical leader and operational leader, ensuring projects move seamlessly from kickoff through production while maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This individual will regularly participate in customer-facing technical discussions, project kickoff meetings, manufacturing reviews, and strategic planning efforts to ensure successful execution across all SMT-related programs. The ideal candidate is a proven electronics manufacturing professional who combines strong leadership skills with deep technical knowledge of SMT processes, equipment, quality systems, and production management., Operational Leadership

  • Own and lead all SMT manufacturing operations
  • Drive on-time delivery, quality, and productivity objectives
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor production capacity, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Lead equipment utilization, maintenance, and process optimization efforts
  • Support capital equipment planning and future manufacturing investments Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the primary SMT subject matter expert
  • Participate in customer project kickoff meetings and technical reviews
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure successful program launches
  • Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) discussions and recommendations
  • Troubleshoot complex manufacturing and process challenges
  • Develop and maintain SMT process documentation and standards Quality & Process Control
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards and customer requirements
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action activities
  • Support quality audits and continuous process improvement programs
  • Monitor process capability and manufacturing performance metrics
  • Promote a culture of quality and accountability throughout the department Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop SMT operators, technicians, and support personnel
  • Conduct training and cross-training initiatives
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of manufacturing personnel

Requirements

Do you have experience in Manufacturing facility?, MUST BE EXPERIENCED IN ELECTRONICS SMT (SMD) PRODUCTION., * 7+ years of SMT manufacturing experience preferred

  • Previous leadership or management experience in electronics manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of SMT assembly processes including:
  • Stencil Printing
  • Solder Paste Inspection
  • Pick & Place Programming
  • Reflow Processes
  • AOI Systems
  • SMT Rework & Repair
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation
  • Experience with process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Experience participating in technical customer discussions and project reviews
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing software
  • IPC certifications preferred
  • (We can train and certify in needed)
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
