Job description
As Applications Engineer, you will act as the technical bridge between customers, engineering, commercial teams, and product development.
You will provide specialist applications expertise, ensuring customers receive the most effective technical solutions to meet their operational requirements while supporting new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
No two days will be the same. You'll combine hands-on engineering expertise with problem-solving, technical analysis, customer engagement, and innovation to deliver high-value solutions across a global customer base., * Provide specialist applications engineering support across sales, contracts, aftermarket, and engineering functions.
- Review customer specifications and develop tailored technical solutions aligned to operational requirements.
- Assess technical risks and ensure solutions are commercially and technically viable.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality technical reports, presentations, and engineering documentation.
- Produce and revise Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using CAD software.
- Support tender preparation and proposal development activities.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering standards, technical guidelines, and specifications.
- Utilise engineering tools and calculations to support equipment selection and configuration.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Support research and development activities, helping bring innovative products and technologies to market.
- Identify opportunities to improve product performance, enhance customer value, and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Remain at the forefront of industry developments, emerging technologies, and market trends.
Requirements
We're looking for an engineer who combines strong technical capability with commercial awareness and a genuine passion for innovation., * Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, industrial, process, power generation, or heavy engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics and mechanics.
- Experience producing technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Edge, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to present technical information to customers and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound engineering decisions with minimal supervision.
