Job description
The IT Support Technician supports the Orangeburg Distribution Center operations by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving hardware, software, automation tools, and business systems. This role partners with operations and corporate IT to ensure effective use of computer-based systems that optimize warehouse performance, visibility, and efficiency., * Maintain and improve 5S standards related to IT equipment and work areas
- Install, maintain, and repair IT equipment including workstations, handheld scanners, printers, labeling systems, and related warehouse hardware
- Support ERP, planning, and order management systems used within distribution operations (Oracle)
- Troubleshoot transactional and system-related issues reported by end users
- Support configuration and implementation of system enhancements and automation tools to improve warehouse processes
- Partner with operations to enhance system functionality and improve user visualization
- Support IT-related projects ensuring adherence to scope and timeline
- Oversee functionality and reliability of security and camera systems within the distribution centerAssist in training employees to maximize effective use of systems and tools
- Support continuous improvement initiativesProvide on-call or emergency support as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide technical guidance to users to ensure system standardization and effectiveness, * Work is mostly performed in a shop floor/distribution center setting with normal exposure to health or safety hazards, and with substantial time spent working on a computer.
- The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to shop (warehouse) areas which may require the use of personal protective equipment.
- Position will require moderate lifting of between 20 and 40 lbs. at times. Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 5% of time
Employee may perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
Requirements
- Strong understanding of distribution and logistics operations
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Oracle
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and warehouse technology systems
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and system integrations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Project coordination and organizational skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to system issues outside normal business hours
Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required

Bachelor's degree in information technology, or related discipline preferred

Minimum 2 years of related experience in IT support, systems support, or distribution technology environment
