- Receive and process requests for non-emergency patient transports
- Schedule local and long-distance transports to maximize available resources
- Maintain transport logs and collect patient demographic, medical, and insurance information
- Monitor ambulance status and coordinate transport activity
- Verify insurance information and review patient care reports for documentation compliance
- Track dispatch activity using designated software and spreadsheets
- Perform quality assurance activities for NET calls in accordance with Medicare requirements
- Coordinate with EMS supervisors and outside transport providers as needed
- Assist with reports and data collection for advisory groups and stakeholders
- Participate in public health emergency response activities when needed
- Perform other duties and cross-training assignments as required
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Customer communication?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, Galveston County Health District is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented part-time EMS NET Dispatcher to support our Galveston Area Ambulance Authority (GAAA) team. In this role, you will coordinate and schedule non-emergency patient transports, maintain accurate records, verify insurance information, and ensure timely communication between hospitals, nursing facilities, and EMS personnel. This position is described in the attached job description., * High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of experience related to patient care or non-emergency dispatching preferred, preferred
- Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to prioritize and adjust schedules in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements
- Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain one
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Must meet immunization, background check, and drug/alcohol screening requirements
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community partners
