Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our IT support team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive assistance to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and maintaining the overall health of our computer systems and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving., * Provide technical support for desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals across various operating systems including Windows and macOS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues related to applications such as Microsoft Office, enterprise software, and custom business tools.
- Manage computer hardware components, perform upgrades, repairs, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with network administration tasks including configuring and supporting LAN, VPN connections, firewalls, DNS settings, TCP/IP protocols, and network security measures such as Meraki devices.
- Support IT infrastructure management using tools like SCCM for software deployment, GPO for policy enforcement, Active Directory for user account management, and BMC Remedy or ServiceNow for ticketing and incident tracking.
- Configure and support remote access solutions including VPNs to facilitate secure connectivity for remote users.
- Collaborate with the IT team on system updates, security patches, and infrastructure improvements while documenting procedures in Jira or similar platforms.
- Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating technical information to non-technical users and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Assist in the management of help desk tickets through platforms like Help Desk or ServiceNow to track incidents from initiation to resolution.
Requirements
Do you have experience in macOS administration?, * Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles with a focus on hardware troubleshooting and software troubleshooting across diverse operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN configuration, TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, firewall configuration (including Meraki), and VPN setup.
- Proficiency in managing computer hardware components and performing upgrades or repairs as needed.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server environments, Linux systems, Active Directory administration, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with enterprise tools such as SCCM for software deployment, GPO for policy management, BMC Remedy or ServiceNow for incident management, Jira for project tracking.
- Understanding of network administration principles including TCP/IP protocols, DNS configuration, LAN management, and network security best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong analysis skills with attention to detail when diagnosing issues or implementing solutions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer service.
