Job description

As a Pressure Vessel Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of pressure vessels and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant design codes, customer specifications, and industry standards.

Working closely with project, production, and quality teams, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions., * Design pressure vessels, heat exchangers, separators, and related equipment.

  • Produce detailed engineering calculations and technical documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with ASME VIII, PD5500, EN13445, PED, and other applicable standards.
  • Review customer specifications and develop compliant design solutions.
  • Support manufacturing teams throughout fabrication, inspection, and testing activities.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and third-party inspection bodies.
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support across multiple engineering projects.

Requirements

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in pressure vessel design to work on technically challenging projects from concept through to manufacture., Essential

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience designing pressure vessels or similar static equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of pressure vessel design codes including ASME VIII, PD5500, or EN13445.
  • Experience using pressure vessel design software such as PV Elite, Compress, or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of fabrication, welding, and materials selection.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering standards.

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards accreditation.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Knowledge of heat exchanger design and TEMA standards.
