Job description
Southern Cross University is continuing to strengthen its enterprise technology platforms to support innovative teaching, research and student experiences. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing and improving the University's enterprise network infrastructure across multiple campuses.
Working within a team of five technical engineers, you will contribute to major infrastructure initiatives while maintaining highly secure, resilient and scalable network services. This role offers the opportunity to work across a modern technology stack including, WAN, LAN, cloud networking, security platforms, wireless infrastructure and voice services, while collaborating closely with internal teams and external vendors.
You will make an impact by:
- Designing and implementing enterprise network infrastructure and major platform improvements
- Supporting secure, reliable network services across on-premise, private cloud and Azure environments
- Leading complex engineering work and providing senior technical guidance within the team
- Collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient technology solutions
Requirements
Do you have experience in Wireless network deployment projects?, You are an experienced Network or Platform Engineer working within a mid-to-large enterprise environment where you contribute to both day-to-day operations and major infrastructure projects. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges, communicating clearly with stakeholders and delivering reliable, secure network services., * Undergraduate qualifications in Information Technology, and/or with 4+ years' experience working in a relevant ICT related field such as network engineering or platform infrastructure
- Strong experience designing and supporting network switching and WiFi infrastructure within enterprise environments
- Knowledge of contemporary network security standards across on-premise, private cloud and Azure environments
- Experience provisioning, administering and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical vendors, stakeholders and end-users, with the ability to deliver customer-focused technical support
- Experience working in a higher education or similarly complex organisation, and exposure to enterprise network design, routing protocols, NGFW, ZTNA or load balancing technologies will be highly regarded.
- A current NSW Working with Children Check, Eligible applicants must have Australian or New Zealand citizenship, Australian permanent residency or current working rights in Australia for the entire duration of the appointment. Employer visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

- Located at Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450.
- HEW Level 7. The base salary ranges from $108,361 - $117,660 per annum, plus 17% employer's contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $137,662.
