Job description
The Graphic Design & Social Media Coordinator will work with GAA's leadership to support graphic design and promotional projects of Greenway's three departments.
As the Coordinator, you will be focused on creating marketing and presentational materials for Greenway Arts Alliance (GAA- non-profit org with arts education programs and professional theatre) and Melrose Trading Post (MTP- weekly artisan and vintage market at Fairfax High School that funds these programs alongside donations, grants and foundational support).
You'll support our visual storytelling in person and online. This includes communicating GAA's history, milestones, goals, donation drives and events across our online and physical spaces.
For MTP, you'll create the weekly and special event assets. You'll collaborate on strategy and implementation of social media content, online ads, physical displays/ signage, interactive elements for the market, and more. We're excited to grow with a person with a fresh perspective to support and uplift our current presentation.
You'll start with the systems we have set up currently, and we'll discuss how to improve them with your skills and experience.
MTP Duties Expanded
- Support capturing media to promote the performers and vendors of MTP
- Create materials for seasonal special events
- Create weekly promotional materials for MTP including newsletter (Mailchimp), posts, videos, ads, posters and graphics
- Update MTP and GAA websites through Wordpress (WP Bakery)
- Create content and schedule posts for Instagram, Facebook, Youtube and TikTok accounts
GAA Duties and Responsibilities
- Dive into the Greenway Arts Alliance world to know our history, community, mission and vision. Know the details of our current projects within the context of our history.
- Use Greenway's existing marketing plan, brand style guide and storytelling language to create educational and celebratory content for all departments to share.
- Launch campaigns for GAA programs and donation drives
- Connect community members' stories with the overall GAA story
- Copywriting, photo & video editing, and graphic design
- Will work on projects in Mailchimp, Wordpress, Adobe Suite and social media platforms
Schedule
Our team works in the office Sunday through Thursday.
Each department has seasonal weekend events that you may be asked to attend.
Part-time position, non-exempt. 20 Hours per week with Sundays Required (11AM-3:30PM).
Requirements
- Adobe Suite proficiency
- Experience with Mailchimp and Wordpress
- Basic Photography, Videography and editing experience
- Experience in marketing non-profit organizations, the arts, events or related fields
- Copywriting and Campaign Content Design
- Previous experience launching promotional campaigns and brand communication
- Interest in immersing yourself in a creative community to know and tell our stories
