Job description

The Senior Director, Information Technology serves as the senior technology leader at Quest, accountable for the overall performance, strategy, and execution of the IT function. This role carries broad accountability across infrastructure management, systems administration, cybersecurity, audit and IT general controls (ITGC) compliance, database and Azure cloud management, custom software development, and the ongoing performance of core business platforms.

In addition to day-to-day operational oversight, the Senior Director is responsible for governing and advancing Quest's enterprise-wide application of artificial intelligence, establishing and maintaining data governance standards, and ensuring accurate and timely synchronization of customer, vendor, and service data across platforms. The role also maintains visibility into and oversight of the overall enterprise architecture, identifying opportunities to strengthen integration, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.

The Senior Director leads an internal team of approximately ten full-time employees alongside a portfolio of onshore and offshore third-party service providers and contractors. The role operates at both the strategic and operational level, with a direct and active presence in the work of the team rather than purely supervisory oversight.

The Senior Director partners closely with functional stakeholders across the organization to address technology issues, evaluate system enhancements, and ensure IT capabilities continue to meet evolving business requirements. The role requires strong technical acumen - particularly in systems administration and infrastructure management - and the organizational influence to drive results across a complex, multi-platform environment.

ROLE COMPETENCIES

  • Infrastructure & Platform Management: Leads the strategy, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Quest's technology infrastructure, including operating systems, hardware, software platforms, and Azure cloud services. Drives platform transitions, upgrades, and ensures licensing compliance across servers, software, and IT equipment.
  • Systems Integration & Application Performance: Oversees the enhancement, maintenance, and integration of systems and data across existing and acquired business lines into Quest core systems. Accountable for the performance and reliability of core business applications and ensures timely resolution of system errors, performance issues, and user-impacting problems.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Manages Quest's cybersecurity posture, including vendor relationships and security program oversight. Maintains IT General Controls (ITGC) practices and ensures the organization meets audit and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Software Development & Delivery: Ensures best practices in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and governs the delivery of new customizations and enhancements. Interfaces with internal teams and third-party providers to manage the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing development of enabling technologies.
  • Data Management & Business Intelligence: Establishes and maintains data governance standards and ensures accurate, consistent synchronization of customer, vendor, and service data across platforms. Collaborates with internal and external resources to support the overall BI strategy, including data warehouse design, architecture, and implementation standards.
  • AI Program Governance: Leads and governs Quest's enterprise-wide AI program, including resource management, technology evaluation, and the responsible and effective application of AI across business functions. Maintains current knowledge of emerging AI capabilities and their potential organizational impact.
  • Project & Resource Management: Drives simultaneous IT projects to successful completion while managing resource allocation, team productivity, and prioritization in alignment with changing business needs and budget constraints. Develops and adheres to annual budgets and staffing plans.
  • Technology Strategy & Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborates with senior leaders to translate business strategy into a technology agenda and drive execution. Evaluates potential projects, determines scope and priorities, and serves as the primary point of contact for vendor relationships, agreements, and major external technology interactions.
