Job description

  • Design and develop web application modules, REST APls, and related components for open data and metadata management, including capture, processing, and visualisation
  • Analyse requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable technical solutions
  • Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of web applications and software components

Integration and data:

  • Develop and integrate interfaces for processing and exposing metadata from experiments, software tools, and user input
  • Ensure interoperability with institutional systems and external services through well-designed APls and data flows

Lifecycle and collaboration:

  • Contribute to testing, deployment, documentation, and maintenance of developed applications
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to refine requirements and improve solutions
  • Support users in adopting developed applications and workflows, * Extensive training opportunities, including subsidized English and German language courses

Requirements

  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong programming experience with web frameworks, ideally Ruby on Rails or comparable technologies
  • Solid understanding of web application architecture, REST APls, and system integration
  • Experience with databases and data modeling
  • Working knowledge of Linux environments
  • Strong track record of working with multiple stakeholders in a highly dynamic development environment
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with metadata-driven applications, open data platforms, or research information systems
  • Experience in deployrnent, maintenance, and support of production web applications
  • Familiarity with containers, version control workflows, and modern software deployment practices

Compensation & long-term security
