Job description
We are seeking detail-oriented Spanish Caption Annotation Specialists based in Spain to support a multimedia annotation project focused on enhancing machine-generated captions.
In this role, you will review AI-generated captions and create clear, accurate, and descriptive annotations for spoken dialogue, music, and environmental sounds. Your work will help improve AI-powered speech recognition, multimedia accessibility, and language technologies.
Depending on project requirements and your qualifications, you may participate in one or more annotation phases.
What You'll Do
As a Caption Annotation Specialist, you will:
- Review machine-generated captions for assigned multimedia content.
- Produce accurate and descriptive annotations following detailed project guidelines.
- Ensure captions are grammatically correct, natural, and easy to understand in Spanish.
- Maintain high annotation quality while meeting productivity expectations.
- Participate in calibration sessions and quality reviews when required.
- Meet project deadlines while consistently adhering to annotation standards.
Vocal Caption Annotation
Create detailed descriptions of spoken audio, including:
- Voice characteristics
- Speaking style and tone
- Emotion and delivery
- Speech rate and pacing
- Additional relevant vocal attributes
Music Caption Annotation
Describe musical content, including:
- Musical genre or style
- Instrumentation
- Tempo and rhythm
- Mood and atmosphere
- Audio effects and production characteristics
Sound Effect Caption Annotation
Describe environmental and sound effects, including:
- Type of sound
- Timing within the scene
- Relative volume
- Duration
- Context and overall audio characteristics, * Contributors must successfully complete all required project assessments before onboarding.
- Annotation quality will be continuously monitored through quality assurance reviews.
- Consistent adherence to project guidelines is required throughout the engagement.
- Project availability may vary depending on client demand, language requirements, and business needs.
- Contributors may be assigned to one or more annotation phases based on qualifications and demonstrated performance.
Requirements
- Experience in AI data annotation, multimedia annotation, audio labeling, or transcription.
- Experience working on speech, language, captioning, or localization projects.
- Familiarity with annotation platforms and quality assurance processes.
- Experience reviewing AI-generated content is an advantage.
- Previous experience working remotely as an independent contractor or freelancer is preferred., * Professional-level proficiency in Spanish (reading, writing, listening, and comprehension).
- Strong written Spanish grammar and communication skills.
- Excellent listening and audio comprehension abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and consistency.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed annotation guidelines.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Preferred QualificationsFor Vocal Caption Annotation
- Experience with Text-to-Speech (TTS), Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), or speech AI projects.
- Background in linguistics, phonetics, speech sciences, translation, or language technologies.
