Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically minded Junior Technical Services Engineer to join our growing Technical Services team. This will be temp to permanent after 9-12 months and this is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their engineering career who wants to develop into a fully competent Technical Services Engineer through a structured CPD development programme.
You will support the delivery of technical advice, drawing interpretation, product/application guidance, and customer technical support across the business. This role is ideal for someone with an engineering qualification and exposure to structural engineering, civil engineering, construction, or a related technical environment., * Provide technical support to internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction details
- Assist with technical calculations and product/application queries
- Support the preparation and amendment of CAD drawings and technical documentation
- Liaise with sales, manufacturing, design, and project teams to support customer requirements
- Help resolve technical issues and respond to enquiries professionally and efficiently
- Maintain accurate technical records and documentation
- Build strong technical product knowledge through structured training
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the Technical Services function
- Complete all development objectives within the 12-month CPD programme
Requirements
- Ideally HNC/HND in Engineering, Construction, Civil or Structural Engineering (or relevant experience) but not essential
- Ability to read and interpret engineering or construction drawings
- Exposure to structural, civil, construction, or manufacturing technical environments
- CAD experience (AutoCAD or similar)
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
- A proactive, willing-to-learn attitude
Desirable
- Experience in a technical support or technical services role
- Understanding of building products or construction systems
- Knowledge of engineering standards/specifications
- Experience working with customers or project teams
