Job description

Job Summary: This position provides systems administration, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and cybersecurity technical support for district technology needs while delivering solutions for new and existing requirements. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage and secure the district's cloud and hybrid infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory, Google Workspace, AWS). The position consults with users to design secure, scalable technology systems, cloud infrastructure, and security controls that meet organizational needs. Consistently applies systems analysis and cybersecurity best practices to improve performance, reliability, and security. The incumbent provides Tier 2/Tier 3 support to technology staff, resolving complex infrastructure, identity, and security-related issues while supporting department goals and objectives. Collaborates closely with administrators, support staff, and faculty to promote a safe, organized, and secure learning, * Designs, implements, maintains, and documents the cloud and hybrid infrastructure to include but not limited to MS Azure, Google, virtual desktop infrastructure, and security architecture.

  • Works with supervisor to provide purchase requests to recommend the purchasing of hardware and software of cloud infrastructure and endpoint equipment.
  • Implements best security practices for cloud and hybrid infrastructure & end-user cyber security awareness based on industry standards.
  • Ensures the continuity of operations through the management of data integrity procedures such as disaster recovery planning/testing, data/system backups, and replication of cloud infrastructure.
  • Performs periodic risk assessments and penetration tests with the assistance of cyber security third party vendors.
  • Creates and maintains detailed incident response plans for each type of cyber incident and investigates and/or responds to events in real-time with assistance from cyber security third party vendors.
  • Primary support for security camera and card access systems, and visitor management systems, including installing new equipment, troubleshooting problems and monitoring activity. Helps to resolve network & software issues related to camera network. Coordinates camera usage with 1st responders.
  • Programs and deploys OS images & software applications across the district.
  • Manages Active Directory end-users & devices by creating/maintaining group policies across the district.
  • Conducts cyber threat research relevant to the operational efficiency of the school district.
  • Assists the IT Infrastructure Engineer in the performance of their duties.
  • Provides technical training to IT technicians in the performance of their duties.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Associate's degree (A.A.) in Cyber Security or information systems; Bachelor's degree preferred and four years of related computer and technology-related experience and/or training; or equivalent cyber security & systems engineering certifications

  • This position requires advanced computer knowledge - Windows, Windows Server, iOS, Chrome OS. Proficient with In-Tune, managing images, packaging, and deploying software. Knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies, MS Entra; Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Defender, and MS-ISAC best practices and procedures, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
  • 3 years of related technology experience in a school district or education setting preferred
  • Must possess valid PA driver's license
  • Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the PA School Code)
  • Submission of the following clearances:
  • PA State Criminal History Record (Act 34 & Act 114)
  • PA Dept. of Public Welfare Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151 & Act 114)
  • Federal (FBI) Background Check (Act 24)
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
