Job description
As our Head of Compliance, you'll provide strategic leadership for all compliance and governance activities, ensuring our policies, systems, and certifications remain robust, effective, and aligned with business objectives.
Working closely with senior leaders and operational teams, you'll oversee audit programmes, regulatory compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting the business in maintaining industry-leading standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and develop the company's compliance and governance framework.
- Maintain key accreditations including, Social Ethical Assessments
- Manage internal and external audits, certification renewals, and compliance reporting.
- Develop and maintain company policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Monitor regulatory developments and ensure ongoing legal and industry compliance both on UK landscape and EU landscape
- Provide expert compliance advice to senior leadership and operational teams.
- Drive continuous improvement across governance, risk management, and assurance processes.
- Support ESG reporting, supplier assurance, customer compliance requirements, and tender submissions.
- Foster a positive culture of compliance, accountability, and operational excellence.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who combines technical compliance expertise with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
You'll ideally have:
- Auditor qualification in ISO standards.
- 3-5 years' experience in a senior compliance, governance, quality, or risk role.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001.
- Experience managing certification programmes, including FSC and BRCGS.
- Excellent understanding of regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management.
- Experience developing compliance policies and integrated management systems.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience leading audits and managing corrective action programmes.
Professional qualifications in Compliance, Governance, Risk, Quality, or Information Security would be advantageous.
