Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic team. As the Lead UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for creating intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces that enhance the overall player experience. You will have a direct impact on how players interact with our games, ensuring that our interfaces are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Core Responsibilities
- Influence overall UI art styles and creative direction through your work.
- Create and implement UI artwork within defined look & feel.
- Design and implement user interfaces that are intuitive, responsive, and visually engaging.
- Create vector artwork, iconography, and export rasterized assets that are high quality and optimized for the game.
- Collaborate with game designers, artists, and engineers to ensure UI/UX meets project requirements.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to communicate design concepts.
- Conduct user testing and gather feedback to refine UI/UX designs.
- Ensure consistency and adherence to UI/UX best practices across the game.
- Optimize UI for different platforms, including PC, consoles, and mobile devices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new techniques into your work.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in UI/UX design within the video game industry.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
- Experience implementing UI/UX in Unreal.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
- Experience with responsive design and adaptive layouts.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing previous UI/UX design work in games.
- Possess a strong graphic design background and/or understanding of design principles.
- A strong understanding of systems design, UI style, layout, and 2D fundamentals.
Plus if...
- Experience with motion graphics and animation for UI elements.
- Knowledge of front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Previous work on AAA titles or high-profile indie games.
Benefits & conditions
The base pay range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000 per year. Actual compensation is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We also offer a competitive package of benefits including paid time off, sick time, company holidays, parental leave, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
