Network Infrastructure Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure & Network Engineer to join a specialist engineering team responsible for maintaining a highly technical on-premises hardware testing environment. This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in everything from designing and maintaining network infrastructure to racking equipment, managing cabling and supporting critical lab operations.

What you'll be doing:

You'll take ownership of the networking and physical infrastructure that underpins a busy engineering lab, including:

• Configuring and troubleshooting VLANs, routing, switching and link aggregation
• Installing, racking and cabling servers, switches and other network equipment
• Building and maintaining structured cabling and ensuring rack layouts follow industry best practice
• Supporting and maintaining an on-premises network environment
• Deploying and configuring new infrastructure hardware
• Troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure issues
• Maintaining accurate documentation including rack layouts, cabling maps and infrastructure records
• Working closely with engineering teams to support hardware testing environments and customer equipment
• Responding to incidents, planned infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives

We're particularly interested in people who have worked in a hands-on infrastructure, networking or data centre environment.

We're looking for experience with:

• VLAN configuration, routing, switching and network troubleshooting
• Hands-on installation of racks, structured cabling and physical infrastructure
• Managing on-premises environments rather than cloud-only platforms
• Network hardware including switches, patch panels etc
• Linux administration, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting

About you:

You'll be someone who enjoys practical engineering work as much as solving technical problems. You're comfortable working independently, have excellent attention to detail and enjoy improving infrastructure rather than simply maintaining it.

This role would suit someone from a Network Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering or Data Centre background who enjoys working with enterprise networking and physical infrastructure.
