Embedded Software QA Engineer - Irvine local, 2 years exp, Linux

Our software doesn't run in a data center or a browser tab. It runs on embedded Linux on constrained ARM hardware - seatback units, overhead displays, and cabin servers - installed by IFE OEMs and flying on commercial aircraft worldwide. Once a build ships, it can be months before it's updated., * Write and execute test plans and scripts against embedded target hardware, not just desktop or simulator builds.

• Maintain and test on physical hardware racks
• Run regression, integration, and system testing across multiple OEM platforms and hardware generations.
• Validate behavior under embedded constraints like limited RAM and storage, intermittent connectivity
• Work with OEM partners (Panasonic Avionics, Thales, Safran/RAVE, Viasat) to validate integrations and platform compliance.
• Reproduce defects, run root cause analysis, and file reports a developer can act on without a follow-up meeting.

• Strong Linux fundamentals. Fluent at the command line, comfortable without a GUI, at home on a target system over SSH
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2-5 years in QA or test engineering, with real time spent on embedded or resource-constrained devices, not only web or desktop., * Linux: 2 years (Required)
