Job description

Holly Electric, Inc., a large full-service Generac Home Standby generator dealer in North Florida, is seeking a qualified individual to join our growing service business in Lake City. Energy resiliency is becoming increasingly important as our electrical grid becomes more fragile, weather becomes more severe, and power outages become less predictable and more frequent. Our generator customer database is growing daily, and making sure they are well maintained and ready for any energy emergency is a key objective. Our current Service Manager will be retiring in the next few years. We are looking for a quality candidate to spend the next 12-18 months in training to take over the role of Service Manager. We will provide detailed, hands-on, side-by-side training to ensure success in this role. The ideal candidate will be energetic, well organized, an excellent communicator, able to plan and prioritize, and capable of facilitating the daily maintenance and service activities of our team in an efficient and profitable manner.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • This position is the primary point of contact for customers with maintenance and service needs.

  • Provide technical phone support to customers and service technicians when necessary.

  • Monitor generator fleet daily to identify service and maintenance needs.

  • Prioritize, route, and schedule field maintenance and service activities.

  • Communicate with customers daily to schedule and update them on the status of maintenance and service activities.

  • Maintain a clean and organized storeroom for repair parts inventory.

  • Order parts and supplies to support maintenance and service activities.

  • Ensure maintenance and service activities are invoiced properly and warranty claims are completed in a timely manner.

  • Ensure efficiency and profitability of maintenance and service activities and make suggestions for continuous improvement.

  • Coach, counsel, and help facilitate training of maintenance and service technicians.

  • Maintain accurate documentation.

  • Ensure company vehicles are serviced and maintained.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to respond to customer needs professionally and with urgency.

  • Good computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 products. Experience with Field Edge or Service Fusion software is a plus.

  • Previous experience in customer service, scheduling, troubleshooting, and dealing with remote customers as a Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager, or similar role.

  • Good mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn generator troubleshooting and repair skills. Electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus.

  • This individual will be required to maintain Generac Air-cooled Generator Technician and Protector Series Technician certifications. Experience with Generac, Briggs & Stratton, Kohler and/or Cummins generators is a plus.

  • Ability to multi-task and handle a large volume of phone calls during hurricane season., * Driver's License (Required)
