Aviation Data Support Technician

• Collect, analyze, and interpret aviation-related geospatial data utilizing GPS technology, GIS analysis techniques, and cartography skills.
• Create detailed maps and visualizations using GIS software and mapping tools to support project planning, construction oversight, and safety assessments.
• Write scripts in Python or JavaScript to automate data collection processes, enhance GIS functionalities via APIs, and improve data visualization capabilities.
• Manage relational databases and ensure data integrity through effective database management practices; utilize SharePoint for document control and collaboration.
• Conduct GIS programming tasks to develop customized mapping solutions, dashboards, or analysis tools that meet project-specific requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project management efforts related to aviation infrastructure projects; provide technical guidance on GIS analysis and data modeling.
• Support land surveying activities by integrating survey data into GIS databases; assist with drafting plans using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Lead efforts in developing comprehensive geospatial datasets for aviation safety analysis, construction planning, or asset management initiatives.

• Proven experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS or similar platforms; strong knowledge of mapping using GIS techniques.
• Hands-on experience with CAD software like AutoCAD for drafting and land surveying projects.
• Proficiency in programming languages including Python, JavaScript, or scripting languages used for GIS automation; familiarity with APIs is a plus.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL) and database management experience; ability to develop and maintain GIS databases effectively.
• Knowledge of GPS technology for accurate data collection in field environments; experience working with geospatial data visualization tools.
• Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex geospatial datasets; experience in cartography and mapping software is essential.
• Background in land surveying or construction projects within the aviation sector is preferred.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives from conception through implementation.
