Job description

Responsible for providing administrative and operational support for the development, coordination, and evaluation of programs within assigned department. Job Duties

  • Leads educator certification testing approval and retake processes, using independent judgment to determine candidate eligibility, readiness, and compliance with TEA and SBEC requirements. Oversees certification testing progression across programs to support timely candidate advancement and consistent application of policy.
  • Leads the design, configuration, and oversight of the Student Learning & Licensure (SLL) data management system for professional certification pathways. Establishes and maintains data structures, workflows, and compliance tracking mechanisms for candidate placement records, clinical experiences, and observation data.
  • Provides cross-functional support for critical certification, placement, and compliance operations during peak periods, staff transitions, and reporting cycles. Supports operational continuity, regulatory timelines, and candidate progression.
  • Develops and delivers testing-related communications, guidance systems, and support resources that translate certification policies into clear expectations for candidates and program stakeholders.
  • Verifies testing eligibility and certification compliance for clinical teaching and internship candidates to support placement, certification recommendations, and compliance with TEA and SBEC requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college or university.
  • Functional knowledge of Texas educator certification testing, licensure, and compliance requirements.
  • Prior experience working in data management systems used for testing and licensure tracking, including Student Learning & Licensure (SLL), Educator Certification Online System (ECOS), and Pearson testing systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in education, higher education administration, educational leadership, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience working with educator preparation programs, certification testing, licensure systems, or compliance-focused data systems.
