Job description

  • Work with the Chief Accountability Officer in the development and execution of the district's technology strategy as it aligns to the Warsaw Community Schools mission.
  • Establish short- and long-term goals and milestones to execute the technology strategy.
  • Lead and facilitate the district Technology Advisory Council, engaging stakeholders to evaluate needs, establish priorities, and guide the implementation of the district's technology strategy.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of district technology initiatives and instructional technology implementations, using data to inform continuous improvement and strategic decision making.
  • Effectively communicate technology strategies and updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, assess emerging technologies, and drive innovation throughout the organization.

Instructional Technology Leadership

  • Collaborate with district instructional leaders to ensure technology initiatives align with curriculum, assessment, and instructional priorities while advancing the district's strategic goals.
  • Provide leadership for the district's educational technology program by researching emerging instructional technologies, piloting innovative solutions, and leading the successful implementation of digital tools that improve teaching, learning, and student achievement.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive professional learning plan that builds staff capacity to effectively integrate technology into teaching, learning, and district operations.
  • Work closely with district leaders to determine technology needs in buildings and departments.

Department Leadership

  • Coordinate the work of technology department teams to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities for members of the technology team.
  • Create and maintain efficient department structures to ensure optimal performance.
  • Meet regularly with technology team members to establish, support, and monitor individual goals.
  • Develop the knowledge and skills to serve as a backup for a variety of essential technology roles., * Oversee the implementation of technology projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Establish and revise technology-related policies and procedures for the organization.
  • Work with the technology team to maintain clear replacement cycles for district technology assets.
  • Develop and implement solutions for escalated technology support issues.
  • Work with the technology team to plan and execute E-Rate projects.
  • Prioritize financial resources to complete projects that most effectively support student learning.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors while negotiating contracts that provide the greatest value to Warsaw Community Schools.
  • Maintain network infrastructure best practices by advancing district cybersecurity policies and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, other technology related fields, or Master's degree in educational leadership or business administration.
  • Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL) certification or willingness to pursue.
  • A minimum of five years in a technology leadership role, preferably in K-12 education.
  • Knowledge of technology infrastructure, including networking, server management, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience managing technology projects from conception to implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to technology in education.
