Job description

  • Collaborate across plant controls, Manufacturing IT, and Enterprise Cyber Security to deliver integrated cyber security solutions for manufacturing environments
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and implementation guidance for industrial cyber security controls
  • Support deployment of industrial networking and cyber security solutions, including troubleshooting at manufacturing plants
  • Investigate and evaluate new industrial cyber security and networking solutions for use within Ford manufacturing
  • Develop and execute proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and in-plant pilots to validate new technologies
  • Provide training and technical support to manufacturing plants for cyber security solutions
  • Support deployment of industrial network infrastructure including switches, routers, and segmentation architecture
  • Maintain and enhance existing cyber security and networking solutions and related documentation
  • Support cyber security gap analysis, audit preparation, and compliance activities (internal and external)
  • Capture lessons learned from deployments and drive continuous improvement opportunities

What you'll do...

  • Design and implement network segmentation strategies (zones/conduits, Purdue Model, IDMZ) aligned to industrial security standards
  • Apply Zero Trust security principles, including:
  • Verification of all users, devices, and communications before granting access
  • Micro-segmentation of networks to limit lateral movement within manufacturing environments
  • Perform and support cyber security risk assessments and residual risk evaluation for manufacturing systems
  • Support asset inventory, visibility, and monitoring of OT environments to enable threat detection and response
  • Ensure secure connectivity between OT, IT, and cloud systems, including encryption, protected network boundaries, and controlled data flows
  • Support identity and access management for OT systems, including credential management, secure remote access, and device identity
  • Support vulnerability management lifecycle, including remediation tracking and patch coordination
  • Participate in incident response, recovery planning, and operational resilience activities
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure cyber security standards (e.g., IEC 62443) are adhered to in deployed solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, or related field
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or plant-floor experience
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation systems (PLCs, CNCs, HMIs, SCADA, etc.)
  • Experience with industrial networking, including switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment with strong communication skills
  • Strong technical documentation and problem-solving skills
  • Background in industrial/OT cyber security
  • Experience with Linux operating systems (Debian-based preferred)
  • Knowledge of industrial network protocols and architecture
  • Familiarity with cyber security frameworks, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience supporting plant deployments and troubleshooting industrial systems

  • Background in industrial/OT cyber security
  • Experience with Linux operating systems (Debian-based preferred)
  • Knowledge of industrial network protocols and architecture

  • Willingness to travel to manufacturing plants as required

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
