Job description
- Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center network infrastructure.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing technologies.
- Manage core network services including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP/VRRP, DHCP, DNS, QoS, and multicast.
- Deploy, configure, and support enterprise firewalls, VPNs, and network security solutions.
- Design and maintain highly available network architectures with redundancy and disaster recovery considerations.
- Support enterprise wireless infrastructure, including controller-based wireless networks and site surveys.
- Monitor network performance, analyze trends, and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Perform network capacity planning and lifecycle management for enterprise infrastructure.
- Lead network infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects.
- Collaborate with systems, cybersecurity, server, cloud, and application teams to support business initiatives.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
- Participate in after-hours maintenance windows and provide escalation support as required.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on complex networking initiatives.
Requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure supporting multiple manufacturing and business operations. The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineer with extensive experience in switching, routing, network security, wireless technologies, and data center infrastructure.
This role requires an individual who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational support, troubleshoot complex network issues, lead infrastructure projects, and ensure the availability, reliability, and security of critical production and corporate networks. Experience supporting industrial manufacturing environments and Operational Technology (OT) networks is highly desirable., * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of progressive enterprise networking experience.
- Expert knowledge of enterprise switching and routing technologies.
- Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco switching and routing platforms.
- Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols including:
- OSPF
- BGP
- EIGRP
- VLANs
- Spanning Tree
- EtherChannel
- VRRP/HSRP
- Strong understanding of enterprise TCP/IP networking.
- Experience with enterprise firewalls, VPN technologies, ACLs, and network segmentation.
- Experience supporting large-scale wireless deployments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills using packet captures and network analysis tools.
- Experience with network monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, PRTG, LogicMonitor, or similar.
- Ability to manage multiple infrastructure projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or plant-floor environments.
- Knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) networking and Industrial Ethernet.
- Experience supporting industrial protocols and manufacturing systems.
- Experience with Extreme Networks, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar enterprise networking platforms.
- Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware networking.
- Familiarity with cloud networking in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SD-WAN).
- Exposure to Zero Trust network architecture and network access control (NAC).
- Experience with structured cabling, fiber optic infrastructure, and data center deployments.
- Knowledge of network automation using Python, Ansible, or REST APIs.
