Job description
Federal Professional Solutions is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Project Manager to lead the execution of commercial, federal, and enterprise security integration projects. This position is responsible for the successful delivery of projects involving electronic security systems including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, structured cabling, and related low-voltage technologies.
As a growing company, we are looking for a leader who is willing to go beyond traditional project management responsibilities. The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from contract award through closeout while also contributing to estimating, procurement, logistics, process improvement, contract administration, and operational excellence. This position requires an individual who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and is committed to helping build scalable business processes., · Manage multiple concurrent projects from contract award through final acceptance.
· Develop and maintain project schedules and execution plans.
· Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and internal resources.
· Conduct kickoff meetings, progress meetings, and project closeout activities.
· Monitor project risks and proactively resolve issues before they impact schedule or budget.
· Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements.
Financial Management
· Develop and manage project budgets.
· Track labor utilization and project profitability.
· Review subcontractor invoices and approve progress payments.
· Manage customer billing milestones.
· Prepare project financial forecasts.
· Identify opportunities to improve project margins.
· Review and negotiate change orders.
Customer Management
· Serve as the primary customer point of contact throughout project execution.
· Develop strong customer relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
· Manage customer expectations while maintaining contractual requirements.
· Prepare executive-level project status reports.
Estimating and Proposal Support
Because we are a growing organization, this position also supports business development activities including:
· Reviewing plans and specifications
· Assisting with cost estimating
· Reviewing and validating scopes of work
· Supporting proposal preparation
· Participating in solution design reviews
Procurement and Logistics
· Coordinate procurement of all project materials and equipment.
· Work closely with manufacturers and distribution partners.
· Oversee logistics and delivery coordination.
· Resolve shipping, receiving, and inventory issues.
· Ensure materials are available to support installation schedules.
Operational Excellence
The Project Manager is expected to continuously improve company operations by:
· Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
· Improving project documentation and workflows
· Standardizing project execution processes
· Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency
· Supporting implementation of project management systems and automation
· Helping establish scalable operational processes as the company grows
Team Leadership
· Provide leadership to project coordinators, field technicians, and subcontractors.
· Promote accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
· Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (Required)
· Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field OR a minimum of seven (7) years of equivalent professional experience managing security integration or low-voltage construction projects
· Minimum 7 years of project management experience
· Minimum 5 years managing electronic security integration or low-voltage construction projects
· Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously valued from $150,000 to multi-million-dollar contracts
· Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, and customers
· Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
· Strong understanding of project financial management including budgets, forecasting, labor tracking, and profitability
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience managing projects requiring compliance requirements
· OSHA 30 Certification
· Experience with Procore, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Deltek, NetSuite, or similar project management software
· Experience with Eagle Eye Networks, Brivo, Genetec, LenelS2, Software House, Avigilon, Milestone, Axis, Hanwha, Lenel or other platforms, The successful candidate should demonstrate proficiency in:
· Project scheduling

· Customer relationship management
· Microsoft Office Suite
· Project management software platforms
Work Environment
