We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Field Network Technician to join our team and drive the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced telecommunications and networking systems in diverse field environments. As a vital part of our field operations, you will contribute to building robust network systems that power modern communication., * Install, configure, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems including fiber optic cabling, structured cabling (Cat5, Cat6), and low-voltage electrical wiring.
- Perform fiber splicing and termination to ensure optimal signal quality across fiber optic networks.
- Conduct site surveys using schematics and technical drawings to plan and execute network installation projects accurately.
- Test and diagnose network issues utilizing diagnostic tools, Ethernet testers, telecommunication testing equipment, and Ohmmeters.
- Maintain and repair networking equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya telephony systems, and VoIP solutions.
- Perform routine inspections of electrical systems (AC/DC) to ensure safety compliance with NEC standards.
- Support customer service efforts by providing clear communication during system installations or troubleshooting sessions, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Utilize power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment for cabling, equipment mounting, and system upgrades in various environments including data centers.
- Conduct RF testing for radio frequency signals to verify wireless communication integrity.
- Document all work performed with detailed reports and update schematics or network diagrams as needed to reflect changes or repairs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or field technician specializing in telecommunications or networking systems.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN architecture, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), structured cabling installation, and network wiring practices.
- Hands-on experience with fiber optic systems installation, splicing, cable termination, and testing procedures.
- Familiarity with telecommunications equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya telephony systems, and VoIP technology.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately for system installation and troubleshooting purposes.
- Competence in using diagnostic tools like Ohmmeters, telecommunication testing equipment, RF testers, and other diagnostic instruments.
- Electrical experience with low-voltage wiring installations adhering to NEC standards; knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients at all levels of understanding.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel frequently for on-site installations and maintenance tasks.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment safely using power tools and hand tools; comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces when necessary.
