Job description

  • Performing routine and recurring assignments in the specialty area
  • Identifying and resolving basic issues and problems
  • Drafting or updating manuals, documentation, instructions, and operating procedures using guidance provided
  • Providing information and assistance to customers
  • Completing portions of a larger project or program
  • Researching, gathering, drafting and presenting data or other information
  • Diagnosing and resolving problems in response to customer reported incidents
  • Researching, evaluating, and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining problem tracking and resolution databases
  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining customer hardware and software.
  • Executing and managing customer service performance requirements
  • Executing customer support policies, procedures, and standards
  • Providing customer training
  • Providing advice and assistance to customers
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows 11 operating system and Microsoft Office Suite of software products.
  • Qualified to operate in a secure network.
  • Able to train users on generic operation of PCs and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Organizing vendor demonstration sessions for other specialists
  • Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of customer support services.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for IM/IT issues.
  • Knowledge of IT customer support processes, including installation, configuration, and user training.
  • Ability to analyze and recommend solutions to IT problems.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with senior IT specialists.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt through on-the-job training and experience.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

The employee provides IT customer support, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and training. They analyze and resolve IM/IT issues, offer recommendations, and conduct training. Working under higher-level IT specialists, they receive direction and feedback, gaining expertise through hands-on experience. Work is reviewed for progress, completeness, and adherence to procedures, especially for new or complex tasks.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Computer Specialist: Pay commensurate with experience.
