Job description
We are looking for a Team Leader Site Engineering to plan, organize and perform the deployment, validation, testing, and servicing of innovative Single-Use Hardware Systems with the support of a multidisciplinary team. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will combine technical expertise, project management, customer interaction, and team coaching to ensure successful delivery of hardware solutions across Europe.
You will play a key role in supporting product development, customer installations, system validation activities, and ongoing technical service of pharmaceutical Single-Use Hardware Systems such as mixers, buffer management systems, filtration systems, etc. Working closely with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing, Customer Service and Commercial teams, you will help drive operational excellence while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
This position is based in Hillegom and requires monthly travel within Europe, as well as fortnightly travel within the Netherlands to visit customer and supplier sites, support system set-up activities, perform testing and validation work, and provide technical support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support a team of Site Engineers, Site Technicians and Logistics Operators.
- Manage the planning, organization and execution of site activities, including:
- Hardware installations and modifications
- R&D and validation testing
- Factory acceptance testing (FAT) and Site acceptance testing (SAT)
- System commissioning and applications support
- Service and troubleshooting activities
- Support commercial teams with demonstrations and site activities in promoting and expanding the Single-Use Hardware Systems portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Travel to customer facilities to provide technical support, system implementation and validation assistance.
- Coordinate technical activities with subcontractors and external partners.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to drive customer satisfaction and operational performance.
- Prepare and manage CAPEX proposals and oversee approved investments.
- Own and maintain equipment maintenance plans, including tools, measurement devices and site equipment.
- Validate and select suitable hardware components such as pumps, sensors and motors.
- Develop testing protocols and perform technical evaluations where required.
- Maintain engineering documentation, technical libraries and safety records.
- Support customer complaint investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost assessments to support product development and business objectives., * A varied mix of leadership, engineering, customer engagement and project execution.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (HBO) in Engineering, Operational Technology or a related technical discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing or technical environment.
- Hands-on experience both on mechanical and electrical installations
- Previous leadership or team coordination experience (minimum 1 year preferred).
- Experience working directly with customers in a technical or field-based role is advantageous.
- GMP and GDP Principles Experience - Working experience in GMP environments or highly regulated industries is strongly preferred

- Understanding of P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), Mechanical Drawings, Electrical Drawings and good management of complex technical documents and guidelines.
- Experience with piping / fluid management systems.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills and relationship-building ability.
- Comfortable working independently at customer sites and managing multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
