Intelligent Infrastructure Technician - Basingstoke

As an Intelligent Infrastructure Technician , you'll be the eyes and ears of the railway-using cutting-edge technology to monitor asset health, predict failures, and keep Britain moving. Your insights will help prevent disruption, improve safety, and support maintenance teams with real-time information.

This is a role where data meets action . You'll analyse alerts, interpret trends, and provide advisory support to ensure timely responses and smarter decisions across the network.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and analyse: Use Intelligent Infrastructure systems to track asset health and predict potential failures.
• Prevent disruption: Notify changes in asset status and provide advisory information to maintenance teams.
• Manage data quality: Ensure alerts and alarms are accurate and meaningful, helping teams prioritise responses.
• Support maintenance: Provide diagnostic history and fault status to minimise downtime.
• Report and improve: Deliver asset health reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Calibrate systems: Work with maintenance teams to fine-tune equipment for optimal performance.

• Strong communication skills-verbal and written.
• Knowledge of asset monitoring techniques and systems.
• Experience in inspection, faulting, or maintenance (rail or similar industry).
• Understanding of relevant standards and procedures.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage competing priorities., Keeping people safe on the railway is at the heart of everything we do. Safe behaviour is therefore a requirement of working for Network Rail. You should demonstrate your personal dedication to safety on your application.

Drugs and Alcohol Standard

All prospective candidates will be required to undergo and pass a drugs and alcohol test. Your application will be rescinded if you record a positive test. All positive drugs and alcohol test results for prospective candidates will be securely held on Sentinel database and a 5 year suspension from applying for a safety critical role, a role which requires PTS certification or a Key Safety role on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure will be enforced.
