Job description
We are recruiting experienced Desktop Support Engineers to join a major secure technology programme supporting a high-profile client. Due to the nature of the work, the client remains confidential at this stage, but this is an excellent opportunity to work within a secure, enterprise-level IT environment delivering first-class end-user support., * Provide 1st and 2nd line desktop support to end users.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and peripheral issues.
- Build, configure and deploy desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
- Install, configure and support Windows operating systems and Microsoft applications.
- Manage user accounts, permissions and access requests.
- Support meeting room technologies, printers and AV equipment.
- Log, update and resolve incidents and service requests using an ITSM tool.
- Escalate complex technical issues where appropriate while maintaining ownership through to resolution.
- Perform hardware replacements, repairs and asset management activities.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with security policies and service level agreements (SLAs).
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Desktop Support, IT Support or End User Computing role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience supporting desktop hardware, laptops, printers and mobile devices.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, user administration and group policies.
- Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy or similar.
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support users at all levels.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a secure environment.
Essential Requirements
- Current Active SC Clearance (must already be held).
- Sole UK National due to project security requirements.
- Ability to work Full time on-site in either Barrow-in-Furness or Manchester.
Desirable Skills
- Microsoft Intune, SCCM or Endpoint Manager experience.
- Experience with Windows device builds and imaging.
- Knowledge of hardware life cycle management and asset tracking.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Experience working within highly regulated or secure environments.
