Job description
- Maintain and enhance legacy mainframe applications supporting critical management systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs, interfaces, workflows, and production issues.
- Develop and support COBOL programs and JCL processes.
- Load and validate crew schedules while ensuring operational continuity.
- Manage integrations with Kronos, PeopleSoft, enterprise data lakes, and downstream reporting platforms.
- Develop operational, business, and regulatory reports.
- Lead the migration of historical data to a modern replacement platform.
- Validate migrated data for accuracy, completeness, and operational readiness.
- Document system processes, integrations, and workflows while providing knowledge transfer.
Requirements
- 10+ years of application development experience, preferably in mainframe or legacy enterprise environments.
- 6+ years of hands-on COBOL and JCL experience.
- Strong knowledge of batch processing, data interfaces, system integrations, and production support.
- Proven ability to resolve complex, time-sensitive issues in mission-critical systems.
- Experience developing operational or regulatory reports.
- Strong collaboration, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Mainframe Systems Programmer Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale data migration or application modernization.
- Transportation, logistics, or crew management systems experience.
- Familiarity with Kronos, PeopleSoft, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Knowledge of FRA Hours of Service or other regulated reporting requirements.
