Job description
We are seeking a Senior Middleware Automation Engineer to design and implement automated solutions for complex enterprise application-hosting environments. You will be the primary technical lead responsible for the "lifecycle automation" of our middleware platforms-translating manual deployment, configuration, and management tasks into scalable, code-driven workflows. This is a senior-level role for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of infrastructure and application support. You will be responsible for ensuring that our production-critical middleware platforms are deployed securely, configured consistently, and managed through robust automated frameworks. If you have deep experience in configuration management and want to drive "Infrastructure as Code" (IaC) initiatives for high-traffic environments, this is the role for you., Automation Strategy & Development Orchestration Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks for middleware platforms. Create modular, reusable configuration management strategies that ensure consistency across diverse environments. Pipeline Integration: Drive the integration of automated middleware deployments into enterprise CI/CD pipelines. Ensure all infrastructure-as-code deliverables are scalable, maintainable, and thoroughly documented. Troubleshooting & Reliability: Lead the resolution of complex, deep-level technical issues within automated production systems. Refine existing frameworks to improve self-healing and monitoring capabilities.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership Technical Partnering: Act as a subject matter expert, collaborating with development, security, and operations teams to identify new automation opportunities and optimize system performance. Mentorship: Serve as a mentor to junior team members. Conduct rigorous code reviews, promote best practices for scripting and playbook development, and foster a culture of technical excellence. Documentation & Governance: Establish and maintain high-quality documentation for all automation processes. Act as a knowledge broker, helping to build "in-house" expertise across the organization.

Experience Baseline: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or automation engineering. Tooling Proficiency: oAutomation: Advanced experience designing/implementing complex configuration management playbooks and roles. oProgramming: Professional-grade Python (3.x) development; strong API integration and orchestration capabilities. oShell Mastery: Extensive experience developing Bash/Shell scripts for Linux/Unix production environments. Principles: Strong command of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), version control (Git), and CI/CD integration. Administration: Deep understanding of Linux/Unix system administration, process optimization, and production-level troubleshooting.
Preferred Attributes Proven track record of managing and automating enterprise-grade application hosting/middleware products. Ability to design for "scale"-experience building automation that handles thousands of configuration parameters without performance degradation. A proactive, analytical mindset-you don't just solve problems; you automate them away.
