Job description

The Secretary of State's Project Management Office (PMO) is recruiting a permanent, full-time Information Technology Specialists II. Under general direction of the Assistant Project Director (Information Technology Manager I), the incumbent will act as a member of a project management team on a complex information technology system project, known as the CAL-ACCESS Replacement System Project, to support the business partner in designing, developing, and implementing the new solution. This support will include (but is not limited to) testing management facilitation to ensure all formal processes are followed prior to acceptance of the new solution. The incumbent will work on a project team or work independently to develop test plans, analyze testing results, and work with developers to resolve issues. In addition, the incumbent will work with the business units to define, analyze, and document business requirements and assist in creation of technical requirements., Positions provide telework opportunities based upon the agency's telework policy and business needs. All employees who telework are required to be California residents, in accordance with Government Code 14200, and will be required to report to the Secretary of State's Headquarters (Sacramento). Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment.
