Job description

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a passionate and dedicated Network Engineer to support military Space Programs. This position receives day-to-day operations guidance from program staff and will report to the LM IS SWFLANT IT OPS Manager., Designing, implementing, and maintaining our server infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network components Ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of our network devices and data Collaborating with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of business applications Developing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies to continuously improve our server infrastructure ship required at this facility, Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Requirements

1+ years of Network Engineering experience (i.e. design, implementation, troubleshooting of complex network infrastructure) Familiarity with designing LAN, WAN, and data center networks Knowledge of OSI, TCP/IP Models, Layer 2/3 technologies (VLAN, OSPF, BGP) Hands-on experience with Cisco hardware Understanding of advanced DNS concepts Interim Secret clearance prior to start with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance

Desired skills

Active CCNA (or higher) Cisco certification Familiarity with one or more of the following: DISA STIGs, COMSEC, and/or TACLANEs Strong network traffic analysis, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills Functional understanding of Splunk for data collection, real-time monitoring, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis Implementation and configuration of firewalls (Palo Alto preferred) Understanding of virtualization technologies i.e. VMware, vSAN Experience with Cloud Networking Infrastructure Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, Agile / Scrum environment Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio Familiarity with installation and configuration of Big-IP (F5)

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
