Job description
This position provides technical expertise to modernize network design and implementation. As a Senior Distribution Systems Travel Engineer, you will be a key technical resource for survey and implementation efforts. This role involves close collaboration with counterparts to facilitate the planning, execution, testing, and sustainment of the network's wired functionality.
Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance
Required: Candidates from a cable/telecoms/similar background with an active Sec+ (or any DoD IAT Level 2 cert)., * Experience supporting network infrastructure, telecommunications, low-voltage cabling, or technology deployments.
Requirements
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards and installation best practices.
- Experience with CAT5e/CAT6 cabling, termination, patching, labeling, and cable management.
- Familiarity with network hardware installations, including switches, patch panels, racks, UPS systems, and wireless access points.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, floor plans, diagrams, and installation instructions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.
