Mid-Level Java Developer (Spring Boot / AWS Backend)

We're looking for a mid-level Java Developer to help build and support nuvebackend, a multi-service Spring Boot backend that powers device, admin/contractor, and mobile-facing APIs. This role is hands-on and implementation-focused, but it also requires enough AWS familiarity to help deploy, troubleshoot, and debug backend systems running with cloud infrastructure and managed services.

You'll work closely with the lead developer to implement features across several Java services, extend shared backend code, write and review database changes, and help diagnose issues that span application code, data, scheduled jobs, and AWS-connected components.

What you'll do

• Build and enhance backend features in Java and Spring Boot across multiple services.
• Add and maintain REST endpoints, service-layer logic, validation, and shared DTO/entity code.
• Work with PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate, Redis, Elasticsearch, and scheduled/background processing.
• Help deploy and support services in AWS-backed environments.
• Troubleshoot production and staging issues involving application code, configuration, logs, data, and AWS integrations..
• Contribute to regression safety through JUnit/Mockito tests and API-level test coverage.
• Update API documentation and technical docs when behavior changes.

• Solid professional experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building and debugging REST APIs in production-like environments.
• Strong SQL skills and comfort working with relational schemas and incremental migrations.
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate and service/repository-layer backend design.
• Working familiarity with AWS as a developer, not just as an end user.
• Ability to investigate issues across app code, logs, config, and infrastructure boundaries.
• Experience writing tests with JUnit and Mockito.
• Good communicator who can work as a practical coding partner, not just an isolated implementer., * Java: 4 years (Required)
