Job description
Use technical knowledge of specialized connectors and capabilities to provide the customer with a custom solution that meets all technical and regulatory requirements. Work with customers to complete customized assemblies with value-added solutions such as custom-designed cable assemblies and wire harness solutions. Work directly with the customers and the sales team to custom-design and determine product requirements. Review and parse all technical specifications and drawings for customized solutions ordered by customers. Estimate production times, bill of materials, and tooling to generate a quotation for the customer. Provide technical consultation, leadership, and liaison with outside vendors for products and materials used to manufacture value-added cable assemblies. Provide support for New Product Introductions (NPI). Travel to customer locations to support the implementation of new assemblies. Work closely with the Quality Engineer and others to establish root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions. ***Telecommuting options include: 3 days required in office, 2 days optional work-from-home. This position also requires 10-15% domestic and international travel.
Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field, or foreign equivalent and 2 years of relevant engineering experience in Engineering Coordinator, Field Sales, Engineering Analyst, or relevant engineer role.
This position also requires 2 years of experience with Product Application, Product Specification, and Product Launching; 2 years of experience with Project Management; 2 years of experience with development of technical offers; 2 years of experience with cable assemblies; experience with designing and creating modular design solution connecting HVAC and supporting building mechanicals for a large smart infrastructure customer; experience with creating high-speed data connectivity portfolio for semiconductor OEM (required development of a new manufacturing process to support the physical design); experience with designing power distribution cable for a new-to-market high amperage power distribution OEM in the smart infrastructure market; and experience with designing power distribution (NVidia & Eaton). ***Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and experience.
